How do I add and edit photos on my profile?

Photos are an important part your sitter profile on Rover—and let’s face it, pics of dogs and their humans are just plain cute too. In this article, we’ll go over how to:

 

Add Photos

Great photos are clear, well-lit, and include smiling and faces and happy dogs. For a tips and tricks on taking great photos, check out this tutorial. Here’s how to add photos to your profile:

 

Update Your Profile Picture

This photo will appear next to your name in search and messages when communicating with clients.

1. Navigate to your profile by selecting your name and then Profile.

2. Locate the Account Info section and select Update.

3. Select Upload Your Photo and choose a photo.

4. A pop-up window will prompt you to crop your photo as needed. Select Add.

5. Scroll down and select Save. You’re all set!

Update Your Cover Photo and Additional Photos

The cover photo is the largest photo on your profile. We recommend a high-resolution (at least 750x500 pixels), well-lit photo of your smiling face or home. Additional photos give your clients a sense of who you are and how you’ll care for their pet.

1. Navigate to your profile by selecting your name and then Profile.

2. Locate the Sitter Profile section and select Photos.

3. Select Upload a cover photo.

4. A pop-up window will prompt you to crop your photo as needed. Select Add.

5. Scroll down to add at least one more photo (at least 500x300 pixels.)

6. Select Upload image from computer and choose a photo.

7. Once the photo has loaded, select Save. You’re all set!

Rearrange Photos

Once you have a collection of additional photos on your profile, you might want change the order they’re in, either to tell a better story or show your most recent photos first. Rearranging your additional photos is easy, simply:

1. Navigate to your profile by selecting your name and then Profile.

2. Locate the Sitter Profile section and select Photos.

3. Scroll down to Add more photos that display your sitting style.

4. Select the photo you want to move and drag it to the desired spot (holding down your mouse button while you drag.)

5. Once your photos are all arranged, select Save. You’re all set!

Edit Photo Captions

You can tell potential clients about your photos by adding captions. Rover Tip: Keep captions short, positive, and friendly to make a good impression on potential clients.

1. Navigate to your profile by selecting your name and then Profile.

2. Locate the Sitter Profile section and select Photos.

3. Scroll down to Add more photos that display your sitting style.

4. Hover your cursor over a photo and select the pencil icon when it appears.

5. A pop-up window will display your photo and a spot to type in a caption. Write your caption and select Save Caption. You’re all set!

Hide Stay Photos

Your sitter profile will automatically show photos you’ve sent to clients on past stays or walks. This is a great way to show potential clients the diversity of dogs you care for and how much fun they’re having with you. If you want to change this setting, do the following:

 

Hide All Stay Photos

1. Navigate to your settings by selecting your name and then Settings.

2. Select the General tab.

3. Next to Hide Photos, toggle the circle white or green to edit this setting. Green means you’d like to keep stay photos hidden; white means you’d like stay photos to be publicly visible on your profile.

4. Select Save Settings. You’re all set!

 

Hide Individual Stay Photos

1. Navigate to your inbox by selecting the envelope icon in the upper right corner of your screen.

2. Select the conversation you sent the photo to.

3. Select Stay Summary.

4. Select the dog’s name on the right side of the page.

5. Select the photo you’d like to hide, and then select Hide Photo. You’re all set!

Delete Photos

You can delete any additional photos you upload to your profile—here’s how:

1. Navigate to your profile by selecting your name and then Profile.

2. Locate the Sitter Profile section and select Photos.

3. Scroll down to Add more photos that display your sitting style.

4. Hover your cursor over a photo and select the trash bin icon when it appears.

5. A pop-up window will ask, “Are you sure you want to delete this image?” Select OK. You’re all set!
