How do I manage my inbox?

Your inbox is separated into categories to help you keep track of your requests. In this article, we'll go over how to access your inbox and what each category means.

Note: The categories listed below are viewable to you if you’re signed in from a computer.  If you’re using the Rover app, you may see fewer inbox categories. We hope to make the expanded version of the inbox available on the app soon.

You can view messages in a single view under All conversations, or you can view them by the following statuses: Pending requests, Upcoming bookings, Current bookings, Past bookings, and Archived requests.

Pending requests are requests that haven't been booked yet. This is where you'll find new requests from owners.

If you're unable to accommodate a booking, make sure you reply to the owner via Rover Messages informing them that you're unable to accept their request. Once you do that, you should archive the request.

Note: If you don’t respond to an initial message within 72 hours, you may not appear in search for those dates.

Upcoming bookings are requests you’ve booked that haven’t started yet. Once a booking is listed in this section of your inbox, that means that your client has paid for the request and that you have accepted the request as well.

Current bookings are services you’re actively providing at the moment. This is a good section to use when you want to contact a client during the booking and share general updates on their pet(s).

Past bookings are stays that you've completed. You can rebook with a past client from this section of your inbox by selecting View booked owners and Book a New Stay.

Archived requests are requests that you didn't book or bookings that were canceled. To unarchive a current or future request, click on the conversation and select Unarchive This will move it back to the Pending requests section of your inbox.

Rover app

  1. Open the app
  2. Tap the inbox icon.

You'll see different folders at the top of your screen where you view  pending requests,  upcoming stays, past stays, and archived requests.

For iPhone app users: To view any archived requests or past stays, tap the folder icon in the upper left corner of the screen.


1. Navigate to your Inbox by selecting the conversation icon.

  1. Select from the different sections to view messages from specific clients.
