How do I book with a local facility?

We’re currently testing out a new program to list certain local facilities on Rover. These centers offer doggy day care and boarding at commercial business locations. 

Note: If you are in a city that offers pet care at local facilities, you’ll still be able to book care with individual sitters.

Booking with a local facility is similar to booking any other service on Rover. 

To find a local facility, on the Rover homepage, select Doggy Day Care or Boarding, fill out the search information and click Search.

You’ll see results for both individual sitters and local facilities.

If you're using a computer, you can filter results by the type of care you want from the left side of the search page. To see local facilities only, check the box next to At a local facility

Click on an individual facility to see their full profile.

Read about the facility and see if it’s the right fit for you and your dog. Make sure you are aware of the facility’s requirements (vaccinations, evaluation days, cancellation policy etc.) before booking. 

If you decide it’s a good fit, click Book now or Reserve.

You’ll be taken to a booking page where you’ll fill out when you’d like to book the service and details about your pet. 

Many facilities require an evaluation day to see if your dog is a good fit. If your booking your dog’s first stay, make sure you choose the service type “Evaluation Day.”

Once you fill out all of the necessary information, click Book now

Note: Your booking isn’t confirmed when you hit Book now. Your booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from the facility, which happens after they've reviewed and approved your request.

Once you submit your request, you’ll see a confirmation page with price details and other important information. This page will be updated when the facility has confirmed your booking. 

 

You’ll pay for the  booking at the facility.

How to modify or cancel a booking with a local facility

To edit or cancel your booking, you’ll need to reach out to the local facility directly.

 To find their contact information:

  1. Go to your Rover Inbox.
  2. Click Upcoming Bookings and click the booking you’d like to modify.
  3. In the top, right-hand corner of the page you’ll find the facility’s contact information.
  4. Reach out to the facility and let them know how you’d like to modify your booking.

FAQs

What is the difference between care in a sitter's home and care at a local facility? 

Typically, local facilities offer care to dogs in a larger, group environment, while individual sitters offer individualized, 1:1 care in their homes. 

Dog owners in the pilot cities can compare options across local facilities and in-home providers, and choose the option that best fits their unique needs.

Is booking with a local facility safe? What safety measures are there to ensure my dog is okay?

All local facilities listed on Rover have active business licenses.

Each local facility describes the measures they take to ensure a safe stay on their profile; you can find this under the section “Safety & Environment”. You can also read verified reviews from pet parents like you.

Additionally, all local facility bookings you make through Rover are covered by a version of our reimbursement plan, the Rover Guarantee. If any issues arise, you or the local facility you book with can also take advantage of our 24/7 customer support.

 

There was a safety issue during my dog’s stay. What do I do?

If there is a safety issue during your dog’s stay, we ask that you first reach out to the facility first. They often have their own procedures and unique ways they can support you.

After you've connected with the facility, please call us at (833) 386-0528.

In your phone call, please share the following information:

  • The local facility you booked with (facility name and location)
  • A summary of the problem
  • Your ideal outcome 

We want to be aware of any incidents that occur and will do our best to support you and investigate the situation.

How do I report a local facility?

To report a local facility: 

  1. Make sure you are signed in to your Rover account. 
  2. Click Get Help in the bottom right-hand corner of this screen.
  3. When asked what you need help with, click Day Care Facility Issue.
  4. This will present you with this article. When asked if the article was helpful, click No.  
  5. When asked if it is an emergency, click No
  6. Enter your name and email address in the correct fields. A member of our team will reach out to you. When they do, tell them which local facility you are reporting and why. 

I have heard you offer care at local facilities, but I can’t find it. Where can I book with a facility?

We're currently only listing local facilities on Rover in certain areas. We're testing this out and will let you know when this is available in your area.
