Do I need the Rover app to offer dog walking, drop-ins, and day care?

Soon, pet sitters and dog walkers offering dog walking, drop-in visits, and/or doggy day care will need to have Rover’s mobile app. Don’t have the app? It’s free to download and you can get it here.

Dog walking, drop-ins, and day care services put people and dogs on-the-go, so we developed the Rover app to complement and enhance that experience.

How it works

For step-by-step instructions, go here.

In the Rover app, tap Today, and then tap Start on the walk, day care stay, or drop-in visit you want to begin. If you’re on a walk, it’ll track your route, so be sure to turn on your phone’s GPS. The tracking functionality is designed to use just a little more battery than the Rover app itself, so you can track multiple services in a day without a losing a lot of power. While you’re out and about, you'll track the dogs’ pees, poops, food, and water breaks—and don’t forget to snap a picture! When you’re done, you’ll tap Stop, write an optional note to the pet owner, and we’ll send them a polished Rover Card with all this info included.
