The Sit a Dog, Save a Life program is all about supporting dogs in need. Sitters and dog walkers can participate by choosing to donate a percentage of their profits to one of our nonprofit partners. Dog owners can take part by booking dog care on Rover with participating sitters and dog walkers.
Participating sitters and dog walkers can be identified by the Sit a Dog, Save a Life badge displayed on their profile:
This badge is a symbol of a sitter’s dedication to helping animals in need. Hover your cursor over the badge on sitter profiles to read about the nonprofit that sitter or dog walker has chosen to support.

Note: If you choose to donate, the percentage you specify will be deducted from your earnings on each booking you complete. You’ll see this come through as part of Rover’s take rate. Rover will then make the donation on your behalf.
You won’t be taxed for making donations. Your 1099 income will be less the amount you’ve donated. Donations made through Sit a Dog, Save a Life are not tax deductible because they are not included in your reported income.
