Rover is not a tax advisor and cannot provide advice about taxes, income reporting, or unemployment.
There are a number of factors that determine whether you’ll receive a 1099 tax form—such as how you receive payments and the amount of payments Rover processed on your behalf. This article outlines what to expect if you received payments via PayPal, check, or multiple payout methods.

PayPal
If you receive payments via PayPal, then you won’t receive tax documentation from Rover. Since PayPal distributes these funds to you, they are responsible for handling your tax documentation in accordance with its own tax reporting practices.

Check
If you’ve withdrawn $600 or more via check over the course of a calendar year, Rover will send you a 1099-NEC tax form to the address listed on your W-9 by January 31. Additionally, an electronic copy will be emailed via tax1099.com by January 31.
Payment via multiple methods during the year
Rover streamlined the way sitters receive payments by transitioning to a new payment processor called Stripe. It's possible that some sitters may have received payment via multiple payout methods in the past year.
If you meet the eligibility requirements for more than one payment method, you'll receive a separate 1099 for each payment method. Please review the eligibility requirements for each method you received payment from to determine whether you'll receive a 1099 for the year.

If you don’t meet the requirements to receive a 1099 from Rover
The fact that your payments on Rover do not reach the reporting threshold in a tax year does not relieve you of your obligation to report and pay taxes for income received through the Rover platform. We encourage you to consult with a tax advisor to better understand your requirements.
